RPRS Mentoring Program

Sign Up Today!The Raleigh Public Relations Society has developed a mentoring program to help students and young PR professionals through the early stages of their career by pairing them with more experienced professionals who express a desire to be engaged in the ongoing development of younger practitioners in the public relations field.

The mentoring program guidelines are informal, and each relationship should be structured in a way that best meets the goals of each participant. However, a few suggestions would be:

  • Commit to phone or email contact on a weekly basis
  • Meet in person monthly
  • Discuss recent experiences, success stories and current challenges
  • Share work samples if available
  • Discuss your professional goals and progress
  • Be mindful of each other’s workload and availability
  • Solicit and offer constructive criticism as well as advice and ideas
